Tuition, by grade

Tuition for the 2026-27 school year. Our Board of Trustees approves tuition for 2027-28 in January and we will post the new figures here as soon as they are confirmed.

Kindergarten

$32,000

Grades 1–4

$38,000

Grades 5–8

$40,000

What that pays for

Five to one

Five students to every teacher. The single most expensive thing about Knox, and the reason everything else works.

Teaching built around your child

Placement by readiness, subject by subject, adjusted whenever a child moves. That takes time no large school can afford.

Expeditions and deep dives

Catalina, Idyllwild, Yosemite, Washington, and electives taught by working experts.

A teacher who knows them

Our classrooms loop, so the same teachers know a child across grades rather than for a single year.

Tuition assistance

We believe a Knox education should be within reach of the families it is right for. Families carry the primary responsibility for funding their child’s education, and need-based tuition assistance exists to close the distance when that responsibility outruns what a family can carry alone. Approximately 20% of Knox families receive a need-based award. Admission comes first. We decide whether Knox is the right place for your child before we look at your family’s finances, and applying for assistance has no bearing on whether your child is admitted.

If Knox feels right for your child, talk to us about cost before you rule it out. That conversation is part of what we do.
