Upper School program and art: units, mathematics, SEL and art
Alyssa Breeher is an energetic educator whose career reflects a special expertise in both mathematics and art, particularly in the middle years. She holds a B.A. in Mathematical Sciences with a minor in Science and Mathematics Education from UC Santa Barbara, where she also earned her teaching credential in Art Education, and later completed her M.A. in Education at the Gevirtz School of Education. Alyssa's own love of learning was sparked through her hands-on Montessori school experience, and her love of teaching began in a 5th grade GATE classroom at Washington Elementary in Santa Barbara. For seven years, she taught at Arellanes Junior High in Santa Maria, where she became known for making learning engaging, challenging, and joyful. At Knox, Alyssa integrates her dual passions for math and art to create interdisciplinary learning experiences that stretch student thinking, foster creativity, and build confidence. She is excited to return to the Santa Barbara area and to partner with Knox families and colleagues in supporting every child's growth.
