Maud Maillard, who calls teaching her passion, is an accomplished French and English educator with over twenty years of experience, currently teaching French at The Cate School in Carpinteria and Grades 5–8 Language Arts at The Knox School of Santa Barbara. A native of France, she holds a Master's degree in foreign languages and international business from the University of Haute-Alsace and spent a decade as a French Lecturer at UC Santa Barbara, where she received a Review of Excellence with High Honors in 2017. Throughout her career, Maud has taught at a range of schools, including Pine Crest in Boca Raton, FL, and Laguna Blanca, building a unique and deep experience from preschool through university. Art integration sits at the heart of her teaching, and she delights in designing interdisciplinary projects that bring language and culture to life through hands-on creation, from Eiffel Tower engineering builds to illustrated children's books and cultural festivals inspired by literature. She thrives on weaving multimedia into her lessons, emphasizes confident and polished writing, thoughtful discussion, and project-based learning, while valuing close collaboration with her colleagues. Dedicated to partnering with families, Maud works to ensure each child thrives academically, socially, and creatively, bringing both rigor and warmth to every classroom she leads.
