Why an Annual Fund
Like every independent school, Knox runs on both tuition and fundraising. Tuition is set below the true cost of educating a student, and the Annual Fund covers the difference.
This year it carries more, for a good reason.
We have brought on exceptional teachers and staff and invested in the programs around them. Those investments are what make a year at Knox worth what it is, and now that we’ve built a sustainable program and structure, we are looking to sustain support for all these efforts going forward.
What the Annual Fund supports
Gifts to the Annual Fund are unrestricted, which means they go where the school needs them most in the year you give them. In practice, that is:
Recruiting and retaining teachers who specialize in gifted education
Professional growth that supports teachers’ lifelong learning
Academic, extra-curricular and enrichment programs for today and the future
Tuition assistance, so as many curious and motivated children can be here as possible
Classroom materials and the resources teachers use to promote learning
Maintaining our student-to-teacher ratios and focused, connected classrooms
Participation matters
Our goal is 100% family participation. Not because the total depends on it, but because it is the clearest statement a community can make about its own school. Foundations and major donors look at participation before they look at the number, and a school where nearly every family gives reveals a school community that is deeply committed to the mission and vision.
All we ask is that you make a commitment to Knox at the level that is right for your family.

Every gift is acknowledged. Donors are recognized by level in our year-end giving report and in school communications.
